Political Rhetoric

Authorities in Patna registered two FIRs over alleged Model Code of Conduct violations during the Bihar Legislative Council elections. The complaints reportedly concerned online political content associated with RJD-backed candidate Dr Sanjeev Kumar and Jan Suraaj-backed candidate Divya Jyoti, as preparations continued for counting votes across eight constituencies.

Mallikarjun Kharge’s controversial remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a Patna event have sparked a political confrontation. Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and state BJP president Sanjay Saraogi have demanded an apology, while the Congress has defended Kharge and linked the dispute to allegations concerning electoral-roll revision.
