Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, directed officials to immediately prepare and submit a detailed report on the damage caused by floods across the State.
The Chief Minister issued the direction during a review meeting focused on the flood situation and the assessment of damage. BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, along with senior officials, attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister directed the Disaster Management Department to obtain detailed assessments from all departments concerned. The assessments are expected to cover the damage caused by the floods as well as the costs involved in rehabilitation and restoration.
Officials have been asked to compile the information and submit the consolidated report at the earliest so that the extent of the damage can be evaluated and further measures can be considered.
The review comes amid the impact of flooding in several parts of Bihar. A detailed departmental assessment is intended to provide information on damage to public infrastructure and other affected areas and help determine rehabilitation requirements.
The Chief Minister's direction places emphasis on obtaining department-wise assessments before finalising the overall estimate of flood-related losses and rehabilitation costs.
The participation of senior political leaders and government officials in the review meeting reflects the State government's focus on assessing the consequences of the floods and coordinating the response.
The detailed report will provide the government with a consolidated assessment of the damage and the resources required for rehabilitation and restoration work.
The direction for a department-wise assessment is important for establishing the scale of flood damage and identifying rehabilitation requirements. A consolidated report can help the Bihar government plan restoration measures and assess the financial resources needed for affected areas.
